Clarkathon 2024 Official Rules

1. Eligibility

  • Participants: Clarkathon 2024 is open to all students enrolled at Clark University and invited guests. Participants can join individually or in teams of up to 4 members.
  • Team Formation: You can form teams before or during the hackathon. Each team should be registered on Devpost by the submission deadline.
  • No Pre-Existing Projects: All projects must be created from scratch during the hackathon. Using open-source libraries, APIs, and pre-built tools is allowed, but the main project must be new.

2. Project Requirements

  • New Code: All code must be written during the hackathon. Reusing snippets of code for basic functions is acceptable, but the bulk of the work must be done during the event.
  • Submissions: All project submissions must include a GitHub repository, answers to the project questions, a PowerPoint presentation, and optionally a video demo. Submissions must be uploaded to Devpost by the deadline of October 20, 2024, at 10:00 AM EST.

3. Code of Conduct

  • Respect and Inclusivity: All participants must treat one another with respect. Harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. Clarkathon is a safe space for innovation and creativity.
  • Collaboration: We encourage teamwork and collaboration, but plagiarism or misrepresenting others' work as your own is strictly prohibited.
  • Mentorship and Help: Feel free to ask for help from mentors, but the majority of the work should be done by your team. Important Dates:
    • Hackathon Start: October 18, 2024
    • Submission Deadline: October 20, 2024, at 10:00 AM EST
    • Judging and Presentations: October 20, 2024, after the submission deadline 4PM
